Pink Applesauce

Ingredients

1/4 cup water
1/4 cup of Rougemont Mellow apple juice
1/4 cup sugar
4 cups (McIntosh) apples washed, unpeeled and cubed

Directions

  1. Bring water, apple juice, sugar and apples to a boil in a saucepan. Simmer for 10 minutes or until apples are soft.
  2. Blend apple mixture in a blender until smooth. Allow to cool completely.
Storage

The applesauce will keep for 2 weeks in an airtight container in the refrigerator and can be frozen.

Tip

You can freeze the applesauce in individual portions in a muffin tin. Once frozen, place individual portions in airtight containers. Simply take out a portion and put it in your lunch box.
